Japanese…
If it had been an Italian gruppo it would have been like spaghetti around a fork…
David TylerKeymasterThanks Chris
This is just for Elite/1/2/3 right? No cat 4s.
There website is crap. I don’t know how they make them so bad but I noticed they have a vets (old F•••kers) racing at Dunsfold. Looks like there are different age groups. Do you know a contact at SL I can ask questions to? Might be a few others who would like to get involved.

David TylerKeymasterGlenn. Is there a big gain by getting some clip on aero bars?
If so, any recommendations?

David TylerKeymasterHi Glenn
Sounds like a number of Oxted riders want to have a go. I presume a TT bike is not required?
I was thinking that it might be fun to stick all the names in a hat (helmet?) and pick the teams that way. It depends I suppose how serious some people want to make it. Personally I don’t think I will be much good as a team mate. I lack the grunt of the big guys and I’m not much use to shelter behind!

David TylerKeymasterHi Tim
Try Strada Wheels: http://www.stradawheels.co.uk/
Very good reputation.

Think Russell size!

David TylerKeymasterAnytime Chris.
I’m sure you will be ‘back on it’ soon.
Remember though. You owe me a lead out to to a sprint finish…
David TylerKeymasterRide report – Fast Group Hilly Tempo..
A large group for the hilly tempo this morning.
First up was Toy’s Hill which was dispensed with by a bunch capable of placing top 10 in a cat 3 race! So much for tempo… Re-grouped at the top and descended towards Edenbridge then turned left, then right to pass Bough Beech reservoir. Looks pretty full already! Let’s hope we don’t have a repeat of last years rain and floods.
Next up was Baley’s Hill. Again the group set a great pace (while I could keep them in site) before descending Hubbards Hill. Each descent was a cold experience for all.
A fairly flat (ish) section followed and riders duly took it in turn to do their bit at the front. Will’s in particular doing more of his fair share. Thanks Will!
Slight change in route as riders were peeling of to go home (it was bloody cold!) so up past Chartwell to Westerham then towards Clarks Lane and Pilgrims. Chris Hewitt and I continued to Woldingham Ridge and Caterham whilst others headed to Oxted and a hot cocoa or a hot bath!
Well done to all for braving such cold weather!!
As a side note I was amazed at how many riders we saw wearing black with no lights. No wonder some motorists call us idiots. Maybe they are ex golfers…
Worth mentioning that nearly all of us had lights and/or a florescent jacket or Gilet. Definitely worth it…
Onwards and upwards..

David TylerKeymasterPlease note that because of the weather, tomorrow’s start time is now 10.00 at Nero’s

David TylerKeymasterLess is more apparently! So I’m doing less at the moment. Base then build. It will probably be a waste of time but you never know until you try. I always took the same all year round approach but never really made any improvement. So it is worth trying something different. You can’t fight age though!

David TylerKeymasterHi Paul
Not sure about that one. I fitted a 10 speed Shimano onto an 11 speed hub and that was a 1mm spacer. If a 9 speed is the same width as a 10 speed then you will be ok.David TylerKeymasterI’m going to try about 10ish. Maybe head up though Woldinham school, Tilburstow, then head over to lingfield way.
